Our Year 3 pupils had a brilliant time stepping back in time during their recent history trip to Arbeia Roman Fort! To bring their classroom learning to life, they loved exploring the incredible reconstructions, from stepping inside the dark, cramped soldiers' barracks to marveling at the towering West Gate. Our young historians got to grips with real archaeology, examining fascinating Roman artefacts and discovering exactly what life was like for the soldiers stationed there. It was a fantastic, hands-on day out for Year 3!
