Today, East Boldon Juniors worked with Sunshine Nursery in hopes of helping their young students in litter picking! As Mrs Taylor loves to litter pick and being that we are big advocates in cleaning up our community, we jumped at the opportunity!
We spent over an hour cleaning around Boldon School and the nearby fields – scouring the foot bridge and all along the stream as well as picking up around the fencing to make it a clean space for animals and people alike. Our students were so invested that they even picked up rubbish all along our walk to and from the burn!
As this was our first time connecting with another school, we were only able to take 12 students. I have been made aware, however, that we have MANY students who are interested in litter picking and show a great passion in cleaning up the community. If your student is interested in this, please let Mrs Taylor know or they can sign up for her litter picking club starting Summer term enrichment!!
Should you have any connections in our community and feel EBJ could help cleaning up, let us know! We had the best day and feel very fortunate for Lisa Leyden and Sunshine Nursery for working with us!
