At the heart of our curriculum at East Boldon Juniors are our Golden Threads - the key Learning Schemas that weave consistently through each subject and every year group. These threads provide a clear and coherent structure, helping pupils make meaningful connections between topics and deepen their understanding over time. By revisiting and building on these core ideas throughout their learning journey, children develop a strong sense of progression and purpose. The Golden Threads also support staff and parents in recognising how prior knowledge is revisited and extended, ensuring that learning is both cumulative and connected. In Art and Design, our three Golden Threads are Drawing, Painting and Mixed Media, and Sculpture and 3D—core areas that pupils return to regularly, building skills, techniques and creativity as they move through the school.
