Our PE Knowledge Organisers are designed to support students in developing a deeper understanding of key concepts, techniques, and vocabulary within the PE curriculum. They provide a clear and concise overview of the essential knowledge needed for each unit of study.

Year 3 PE Knowledge Organisers

Autumn Move the ball with increasing control Dance phases with a partner Choose and plan sequences using contrasting movements. Spring Role as an attacker and defender Defend an opponent and try to win the ball Summer Return ball to a partner Overarm and underarm throwing

Year 4 PE Knowledge Organisers

Autumn Work as part of a team to keep possession and control a game Use formation, canon and unison Perform sequences with a change of level and shape Spring Regaining possession Use simple tactics to help a team score Summer Deliberately use different strokes at different parts of a court Bowl a ball with increasing accuracy

Year 5 PE Knowledge Organisers

Autumn Recognise certain skills for certain situations Perform different styles of dance fluently Use cannon and synchronisation, matching and mirroring when performing. Spring Experience various team roles Move into space with purpose Summer Make tactical decisions when using various strokes Strike a bowled ball with increasing accuracy

Year 6 PE Knowledge Organisers

Autumn Utilise a range of tactics with precision Use marking and interception to improve marking Spring Pass, receive, and shoot ball with precision Summer Play cooperatively with a partner Use tactics as a batter, bowler and fielder
