Computing Overview

Our KS2 Computing approach is designed to develop pupils who are confident, independent, and resilient digital learners. Through carefully sequenced lessons, children build a strong understanding of computational thinking, coding, digital literacy and online safety. They are encouraged to explore and experiment, solving problems by breaking tasks into smaller steps and trying different strategies when things don’t work the first time. We promote independence by giving pupils opportunities to make decisions, debug their own code, and evaluate the effectiveness of their solutions. Resilience is fostered through a safe learning environment where mistakes are viewed as valuable learning opportunities, helping children persevere when faced with challenges. Overall, our approach ensures that pupils leave KS2 with the skills, mindset, and confidence needed to use technology creatively and responsibly.
